Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah has dispelled fears over the shoulder/collarbone injury he suffered in the UEFA Champions League final as he maintains that he will recuperate in time to represent his country at the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The Liverpool forward was brought down by Real Madrid skipperSergioRamosin an awkward manner early on in Kiev and then tumbled to the floor, Salah’s shoulder came under theLosBlancosdefender’s body. The Egyptian star without delay signaled to the bench and while aid was approaching he did reenter the field after receiving treatment, but the pain was too much to bear and Salah went off the field in tears. AdamLallanasubstituted him and a lot of fans felt that Salah’s premature exit scampered Liverpool’s chances of lifting their sixth European crown. And Salah’s injury proved telling as the Reds slumped to a 1-3 loss to Real, who became the first team in history to win three Champions League titles back-to-back. The German’s comments sparked mass panic in Egypt as the absence of Salah, who is without a doubt their talisman, could ruin their chances of progressing to the knockout stages in Russia. The World Cup kicks off on June 14 and Egypt, who are in Group A, will be opening their campaign on June 15 when they take on South American side Uruguay at the Ekaterinburg Arena in Ekaterinburg. Host Russia and Saudi Arabia are the remaining teams in Group A.
